Innovators and Inventors.

 I chose to learn about the Amphibious Boat.

I found out that the first Amphibious Boat was sold in 2004.They got the idea from thier neighbour's trying to launch their boats but it took forever.

 In our reading group, our learning has focussed on New Zealand innovators and inventors.

I chose to learn about Easiyo Yoghurt.

I found out that an Auckland science teacher invented Easiyo Yoghurt.

An innovator is a group or a person that dose something that has never been done before.

Kids can be inventors too. I found out that:

Jeanie Low invented the kiddie stool when she was 11. Louis Braille invented a system that lets blind people read he was 15. Chelsea Lannon invented a diaper that has pockets to store baby wipes she was 8.

I would like to invent wings for pigs so they could fly and I could prove the saying wrong.

Ormond TV Episode 1

 

Ancient Olympics.

For the last two weeks we have been learning about the ancient Olympics and  what it was like competing back then.

I learnt that they didn't have to wear clothes and if they won they got a olive leaf crown and a statue.

My Holidays.

On the first Saturday of the holidays I went to Auckland with my Mum,Dad,Brother and sister.We were going to watch the Lion King stage show on Sunday.The show was travelling around the world but because of Covid 19 they came to Auckland.

As soon as we arrived off the plane we were all wanting lunch so we went and got some chicken from the sushi shop in the mall.After we were all filled up we walked around the shops and bought a few things from the shops.

The next day we went to a place called Amano for breakfast. I had some eggs on toast and me and my sister shared a smoothie.As soon as we got out of the cafe my mum ordered an uber and we found a concrete path in a park so we rode around on the beam scooters for about half an hour.

Then we decided we wanted lunch which was after we road on the beam scooters so we went to a cafe and got some food. I got a bagel and a hot chocolate.When we finished our lunch we had a bit of time to kill so my Mum and sister looked around the hops for a bit.

Later that day it was finally time to go to the Lion King stage show so we ended up walking to Spark Arena. As we walked over to where we were going to wait and my Dad got us all some lollies and a drink.When they called us over  to our gate we went and found our seats and there were about 4 thousand people in the arena.

The show was about 2 and a half hours long. At half time we went and had a toilet break. When the call went for the next half of the show we went straight in before everyone else started rushing in.Near the end of the show there were lots of people with fake birds on sticks and they were swinging them around there were about 5 of them in the grand stands so there was one right next to me.My favorite costume was the giraffe because they were on stilts up really high.

After the show we made our way to get dinner. We ended up going to a Japanese restaurant at the top of this mall and we were literally outside walking around on top of the mall.At the restaurant I got a boao bun with pork in it.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Maths Challenge

 This week in Maths, we have been focusing on measurement in our collaborative groups.
I really enjoyed making the choc chip biscuits with Mrs Parson's.
Something that was a bit tricky was making the paper airplanes because no one in my group new how to do it.
I am really looking forward to doing more of the mess challenges and doing more baking.

The first challenge I did was soccer with the finger puppets and the second challenge I did was hockey with the ice block sticks. the third challenge I did was Archery paper planes.

Mothers Day Poem.

 This is my poem that I made for my Mum for Mothers Day.

Every one in the class had to write one  and they had to be similes.

One thing that I did on Mothers Day was I went to town and got takeaways with my Dad and brought them home for dinner. 

Aurora leadership

 This is my leadership journal me Brooke James and Libby got to go to Aurora leadership it is held at Central Hall.We met two people that are called VIP's and one of them had gotten Covid 19 but she recovered from it her name is Sophie and she is a designer.the other girl named Alice she had broken her leg twice she was really nice.They both had to keep trying.I learnt that no mater what happens keep trying.

How have you been kind this week?

I have helped my friends and others because when I was at Aurora leadership I helped people that came late.

What questions have you asked this week?

I asked some questions at Aurora leadership and some of those questions were what school do you go to and how old are y because we had to find someone we have never met before and introduce them to the rest of the class.

What is one thing that you have learned this week?

At Aurora I learnt how to get a animated photo for my Aurora leadership journal.

What was your favourite mistake this week?

My favourite mistake this week was at Aurora and I accidentally deleted one of my slides on my Aurora leadership journal.

How can you make next week great?

I can have a great week next week by following the instructions and learn lots more things.

Freeze Frame

 This is my freeze frame I did about Maui fishing up the North Island I did it with a group I learnt how Maui fished up the North Island.

I enjoyed going up and performing in front of the class with my group.

I found it tricky to sort out who was which character and knowing what to say because we had the end of the story.

I found it easy to play my part because I didn't have to say much in the play so it was quite easy for me.

I found Screencastify tricky to use because we don't use it often.

I enjoyed making the video with my buddy because I had fun and we got to work outside.

I found it tricky to set the video up and memorising the questions.
